**Installation Steps for Underfloor Heating Mats:**

1. **Planning Your Layout** - Create a detailed plan to decide where to place the heating mats, ensuring even coverage and accounting for the room's layout.

2. **Preparation of Sub-Floor** - Ensure the sub-floor is solid, level, clean, and free of dust. For wooden floors, consider reinforcing with plywood or a suitable tile backer board for added stability.

3. **Laying the Mat** - Roll out the first heating mat with the mesh side facing downward. You can reposition the mat multiple times before finalizing its placement.

4. **Adjusting for Obstructions** - If you encounter an obstruction, carefully cut the mat without damaging the heating cable, and then reposition the mat around the obstacle.

5. **Positioning the Floor Sensor** - Locate the floor sensor, included in the thermostat box, and place it securely within the subfloor, housed in a protective corrugated tube.

6. **Encapsulation of Heating Elements** - Fully cover the heating elements with a flexible self-leveling compound or tile adhesive, ensuring there are no air pockets for optimal heat distribution and safety.
