2. The main ruler's scale is in centimeters. For example, if the zero scale on the sub-ruler falls between 11 and 12 on the main scale, it indicates 11cm (110mm). If the measurement aligns closely with the integer line at 112mm, then this denotes a precise measurement.
3. Align the third line of the minor scale with a line on the main ruler to calculate decimal points—0.1mm multiplied by 3 equals 0.3mm. Thus, if the previous reading was 112mm, the total measurement will be 112.3mm.
