For those new to using a burnisher, the process is straightforward. The goal is to roll the edges of the scraper to create a burr, which allows for ultra-fine shavings and a remarkably smooth wood surface. To achieve this, tilt the burnisher slightly to one side of the scraper, and run it along the edge repeatedly until the desired burr is formed.
Once you have honed each scraper to a fine edge, you will be amazed by the quality of the results on your wooden surfaces. These scrapers are ideal for ensuring your surfaces are exceptionally smooth and ready for the final sanding process. For optimal performance, we recommend burnishing each scraper upon unpacking.
